New role brings together Actuarial, Data Science and Catastrophe Modeling teams to strengthen analytics, underwriting and portfolio performance
SAN DIEGO, Jul 6, 2026 – Arrowhead Programs, a division of Arrowhead Intermediaries, today announced the promotion of Mark Kaufman to senior vice president and chief actuary. In this expanded role, Kaufman will oversee the Actuarial, Data Science and Catastrophe Modeling teams that support Arrowhead’s program business, strengthening the analytical capabilities that help build and sustain high-performing specialty insurance programs.
Kaufman, who joined Arrowhead Programs in 2023, brings more than 30 years of experience in specialty insurance, including leadership roles overseeing actuarial and finance functions at national carriers. Throughout his career, he has focused on pricing segmentation, predictive analytics and the development of tools that support underwriting performance and profitable growth.

The data science team develops predictive models and pricing tools that leverage both internal and external data sources to identify risk characteristics, improve segmentation and support more informed underwriting decisions. These capabilities help Arrowhead deliver faster responses to submissions, accurate pricing and an enhanced experience for agents and brokers seeking specialized insurance solutions. The recent addition of a senior data and AI scientist further strengthens the company’s investment in advanced analytics and emerging technologies.
The catastrophe modeling team provides in-house specialization across earthquake, flood, wind, hail, wildfire and other natural catastrophe exposures. As severe weather events become more frequent and complex, the team’s modeling capabilities help Arrowhead and its carrier partners better understand portfolio risk, optimize capacity deployment and make more informed underwriting decisions.
